Sita Navami, is celebrated on the ninth day of the Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Vaishakha. In 2025, this sacred occasion falls on Monday, May 5th. This day is also known as Janaki Navami, commemorating the day King Janaka found baby Sita in a furrow while ploughing the land.

Ritual Procedure

• Wake up early in the Brahma Muhurat. Take a bath and wear clean, preferably new or traditional clothes
• Clean your home temple or the designated puja area. You can decorate it with rangoli and flowers
• Place idols or pictures of Goddess Sita, Lord Rama, Lakshmana, and Hanuman on a raised platform or chowki
• Light a diya with ghee or oil and incense. Invoke Goddess Sita by chanting mantras like “Om Shri Sitaye Namah” or “Om Janaki Vallabhaye Namah”
• Offer flowers, fruits, sweets,sindoor, rice, chandan, turmeric (haldi), and other traditional puja items to Goddess Sita
